In addition to our regular programs, we recognize that there are traditional expectations that can be a hardship to many. EFA, with community support, offers what it can in the following areas:
Access to food for those with disabilities or transportation issues.
Through our partnership with local volunteers, Eatonville Family Agency delivers food boxes each month to homebound residents or those struggling with transportation issues who are unable to get to the Drive-Through Food Bank. Deliveries are often once a month but can be up to twice a month.
For program access, please call 360-832-6805 and ask to speak to the Food Bank Operations Manager. Details such as your location, family size, and frequency of delivery needs will be gathered to assist in our process of matching you with the correct route and driver.
We bring food to Food Pantry clients at the Ashford Fire Station monthly.
Space is limited. To participate, you must be a current food pantry client living in the Ashford area and RSVP each month to be added to the delivery route. We'll contact you each month to ask if you want us to put you on the list for the next delivery. If you have not contacted us before the third Thursday of the month, we will not have food packed for your family. We welcome you to sign up for the next delivery.
Qualifications: Must complete an annual registration form to receive food. Registrations are provided onsite during first visit.
Partnering with Food Lifeline to save nutritious food from landfills.
Our Grocery Rescue program, in partnership with Food Lifeline’s Grocery Rescue Program, is a community event ensuring food earmarked for store disposal is not wasted.
Supporting Stores: Plaza Market, Graham Safeway, & Bethel Station Fred Meyers.
Breakfast, lunch, and snack items for school children over the weekend.
Each Friday, children enrolled in the program receive a bag of food in their backpack containing two (2) breakfast items, two (2) lunch items, and two (2) snack items to replace the meals they would have received during the school week.
Enroll: If the Backpack Program would help your family (you must qualify for the free lunch program), please get in touch with your child’s school counselor, who can assist you with signing up for the program.
Donate: If you want to sponsor a child, $15 feeds a child for the month. $135 feeds a child for the school year.
History: The Backpack Program was created in 2010 in response to pleas for help from the Eatonville School District nurse who informed the community about the problem of so many of our children needing emergency food to get through the weekends. EFA took the lead and worked closely with local churches and civic groups to get the fledgling program up and running. The project touched a chord of caring within our community and has taken off in demand and support.
A healthy and safe environment for youth to connect through mentorship-minded programs.
Program goals aim to foster social and emotional wellness by developing programs that encourage strong character development within themselves, those in their peer groups, families, and the larger community.
Saturday Game Nights: On the first Saturday of each month
Activities (vary monthly):
Pizza Wednesday Club
Through the universal love of pizza, members of our community intend to surround our youth with positive interactions, messages of educational importance, and overall support and mentorship. PWC provides the connection-filled atmosphere our community wants our youth to be raised in. PWC is for kids in Eatonville to gather together after school, hang out, and enjoy one of their favorite foods together! Follow our Facebook page to stay up to date on upcoming events.
